Job Summary

We are seeking a Commissioning Projects Manager to support the company’s operations in Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region. This role involves directing and coordinating activities in alignment with established business goals, corporate objectives, and policies. You will provide support to strategic direction and operational structure and contribute to policy and strategy development.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of project proposals, including financial, logistical, and technical aspects.
  • Participate in client meetings and address project issues to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with government departments (e.g., Construction Bureau, Quality Bureau) for consultancy/project management services.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to meet business goals and budgets, covering quality management, health & safety, legal compliance, administration, finance, and people management.
  • Provide technical advice and coaching on testing and commissioning to delivery teams.
  • Support Commissioning Engineers, representing CTA for major projects.
  • Support the timely provision of monthly and close‑out project reports to Contracts Manager.
  • Technically oversee and take responsibility for delivery of service in accordance with CTA / Client expectations.
  • Support project teams compilation of technical reports and submission of status reports, including progress updates.
  • Support Commissioning appraisal of design / shop drawing, specification and documents.
  • Undertake site inspections to identify commissioning related issues and concerns to closure where needed.
  • Ensure works are carried out aligned with the Company procedures / industry / local statutory codes.
  • Assist the development and implement short‑ and long‑term business plans with the Country Manager.
  • Support business development efforts, support sales targets, and guide marketing initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, consultants, and business partners.
  • Support the Country Manager to maintain an effective organizational structure with qualified resources.
  • Assist the monitoring of staff performance and collaborate with HR to help develop training and development needs.
Requirements & Skills

Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Project).

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in testing and commissioning, with at least 7 years in a managerial role.
  • Solid understanding of MEP systems, including design, installation, testing, commissioning, and project management.
  • Experience in project coordination or management within the Asia Pacific region is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results‑driven with a focus on achieving objectives.
  • Ability to network at a strategic level.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Capable of motivating and leading a sizeable team.
