Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to develop, optimise, and maintain CNC programs for the production of precision parts and components. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, creating efficient machining programs using CAM software and G-code, and supporting production teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and quality standards are met.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop, write, and optimise CNC programs using G-code and CAM software based on engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD models to determine machining strategies, tooling requirements, and cutting parameters.
  • Collaborate with CNC machinists and production teams to ensure programs are correctly executed and optimised for manufacturability.
  • Conduct program simulations and test run to verify accuracy, tool paths, and cycle times.
  • Modify and improve existing CNC programs to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve part quality.
  • Support troubleshooting of machining issues related to programming, tooling, and process parameters.
  • Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure parts meet design and quality requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation of CNC programs, revisions, and machining processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a CNC Programmer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, and materials.
  • Proficiency in G-code programming and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification, diploma, or associate degree in machining, manufacturing, or engineering is an advantage.
Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and process optimisation mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Clear communication skills to liaise with machinists, engineers, and supervisors.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery.
  • Willingness to occasionally support shop‑floor activities for program verification and optimisation.
