Clinical Instructor - Faculty of Nursing
- Supervise students in the Planning and Implementation of patient care according to disciplines;
- Supervise students in the importance of giving effective patient care and the importance of cost-effective measures through the reduction of infection in patient care;
- Supervise students and teach students on nursing procedures according to various disciplines throughout student’s clinical practice and to ensure students able to learn and gain knowledge on expected competencies;
- Teach and supervise students in the area of patient care based on nursing processes and procedures;
- Prepare the orientation pack for all new students and to be the preceptor in Orientation programs.
- Conduct bedside teaching in ward based on the learning outcomes;
- Assist academic staffs in preparing and teaching nursing skills in the mock ward and during OSCE.
- Assist and supervise students during student’s practice of nursing procedures in the skills lab and mock ward;
- Conduct clinical assessment to achieve the objectives of clinical posting in a clinical setting;
- Ensures that students complete their nursing procedures in the logbook before they can proceed to the next semester;
- Provides assistance and supervision to students throughout their clinical practice;
- Prepare clinical rosters for students due for clinical postings;
- Assist in the teaching and entering of clinical marks into the information management system;
- Assist the lecturers in the teaching of skills procedures in skills lab and mock ward; and
- Involve in activities organised by faculty such as faculty meetings, open day and orientation week and to perform any task given by the dean whenever required.
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Nursing with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience. Having a Post Basic is an added advantage;
- Have a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC);
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Able to work effectively and efficiently as a team member as well as independently;
- Able to communicate effectively and work with the management and other staff; and
- Possess own transport to be able to commute to students’ clinical area.
