Job description

Chemist role at Bureau Veritas in Tanjung Langsat, Johor, responsible for laboratory testing, equipment management, and ensuring accurate, timely results.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tests, jobs, and sampling as instructed by the Laboratory Manager.
• Ensure all test results and reports are accurate, error-free, and submitted promptly.
• Manage, maintain, and care for lab equipment, supplies, documents, records, files, and assets.
• Update the Laboratory Manager regularly on the status of tests/jobs before, during, and after completion.
• Report any abnormalities, problems, or discrepancies immediately to the Laboratory Manager and await advice before action.
• Consult the Laboratory Manager before making important decisions or taking actions.
• Assist the Laboratory Manager in resolving problems and customer complaints.
• Ensure error-free measurements and calculations.
• Conduct investigations on loss, gain, or contamination when required.
• Wear protective equipment, gear, and clothing during tests/jobs.
• Maintain good rapport with all customers and uphold the company’s good image.
• Provide full cooperation to the Laboratory Manager on all matters.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the company.

About You

• Possession of at least a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Preferably non-executive specialized in Chemistry or equivalent.
• Preferably Sarawakian.
