Job summary

A leading paint manufacturer in Malaysia is seeking a qualified candidate to drive formulation development and R&D activities in the protective coating field. Key responsibilities include improving product quality, developing new products, and evaluating raw materials. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Formulate and develop protective coating formulations.
• Conduct R&D activities including lab tests and pilot runs.
• Improve quality and develop new products to meet market demands.
• Evaluate raw materials for cost reduction or replacement.
• Investigate customer complaints and provide reports.

Job description

Experience on Protective Coating field, able to formulate and develop formulation.

Hands on R&D activities, prepare lab test report till pilot run

Value added/improve the quality of existing product

Develop & research new products to meet market trend and demands

Cost down on existing products by maintaining the product quality

Evaluation of raw materials (for replacement, cost down or alternate source with lab test report)

Investigate and study customer complaint. Initiate corrective action on the genuine customer complaint (which related to the formulations, specification and testing & provide report and counter measures)

Modify the existing products to meet specific customer requirement, for instance colour, finishing/appearance, costing etc based on project basis

To carry out testing of competitor’s products against our similar range of products and prepare report based on the finding

To ensure all the lab equipment’s are well maintained and control.

To carry out testing for rework old stock or problematic finished goods

To ensure all technical documentations are well maintaining for audit

Arrange to produce for small order from customer.

To carry out any jobs assigned by superior

Requirement

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, in Chemistry, Engineering (Industrial), Engineering (Chemical) or equivalent.
• Preferable with Chemical Background.
• At least 3-5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Good interpersonal skill, open minded, proactive, strong sense of responsibility and committed.
• Good analytical & leadership skills.
• Preferred language : English,Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively communicate with our diverse client base and stakeholders.
