Job description

We are looking for a proactive Buyer to join our team at HomePro Malaysia. In this role, you will select the right products, analyze market trends, and develop merchandising strategies that drive sales and meet customer needs. You will also guide your team, set merchandising policies, and work closely with other departments to achieve company goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze market trends, consumer buying behavior, and competitor activities to guide product selection.
  • Plan and implement product assortment strategies, pricing, and promotions to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors; negotiate favorable terms and approve vendor plans
  • Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance, training, and knowledge transfer
  • Collaborate with sourcing, operations, marketing, and HR on staffing, recruitment, and workflow planning
  • Monitor product performance, inventory levels, and profitability; propose initiatives to improve productivity
  • Prepare materials and participate in category, sales, and commercial meetings
  • Conduct market surveys and identify new product opportunities
  • Assist in other company matters as required
  • Coordinating task with stores and marketing
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, or retail; fresh graduates with retail background are welcome
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of retail merchandising, assortment planning, and inventory management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel
  • Willingness to conduct market surveys
