A leading retail company in Malaysia seeks a Buyer to analyze product assortments and maintain supplier relationships. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of experience in retail buying, preferably in sports retail. Key responsibilities include sales performance tracking and driving product innovation. Proficiency in negotiation and good analytical skills are essential. This role offers a dynamic work environment and opportunities for growth within a rapidly expanding company.
Analyse and select compelling assortments within your assigned categories / activities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with our brand partners.
Sales performance tracking for selected category assigned and take proactive action on underperforming products through markdowns, or promotions, and over performing products through daily business.
Monitor and ensure on-time delivery of stocks from suppliers.
Monitor weekly trade performance and stock health; and sell-through targets by category and brand.
Identify white space opportunities and drive product innovation.
Negotiate cost prices, margin improvements, trading terms, and exclusivity opportunities with our brand partners.
Code creation, issue PO & update Delivery Plan to make sure the systems are always up to date.
Sourcing for potential brand or supplier, evaluate and propose for the business.
Participate in seasonal sell-in and buying appointments with suppliers and brands.
Monitor industry trends and market developments to ensure assortments remain relevant and competitive.
Partner with Visual Merchandising, E-commerce, and Marketing to ensure alignment across channels.
Work with Planning and Allocation teams to optimize distribution strategies and store grading.
Work closely with Store Operations to understand customer feedback and regional needs.
Any other lawful assignments as and when assigned by the Head of HR & higher management.
At least 3 years experience in retail buying/ merchandising, preferable from the sports retail industry is desirable.

Strong in negotiation skills and supplier relationship management skills.
Good analytic capability and numbers sensitive.
Knowledge in MS Excel.
Good time management skills and deadline sensitive.
