Job summary

A leading chemical distributor in Malaysia is looking for an experienced individual to develop sales strategies and manage working capital for the pharmaceutical business unit. This role involves maintaining key supplier and customer relationships and driving new business developments to foster growth. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in related fields and have 10-15 years of experience in the Pharmaceuticals & Nutraceuticals industry, along with strong business and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in Pharmaceutical & Nutraceuticals industry.
  • Ability to travel to visit customers as needed.
  • Proficiency in English, fluent in any SEA language is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Develop country business plan & sales strategy to achieve sales target.

Job description
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop country business plan & sales strategy to achieve sales target.
  • Has the overall responsibility of the sales target.
  • Manage working capital for pharma business unit in Malaysia and Singapore which includes inventory & customer payment collection.
  • Implement & drive new business developments to achieve business growth.
  • Maintaining and strengthening relationship with key suppliers and customers.
  • Driving and leading through management of sales team and ensuring the achievement of annual sales target.
  • To drive execution of commercial excellence initiative to maximize profitable revenue.
Reports, Customers & Suppliers Relationship
  • Continuously develops the quality of CRM reports & assures CRM report from all relevant customer interactions with sales team.
  • Provide sales forecasts, Monthly and/or Quarterly reports to suppliers & management.
  • Aligns local country strategies and Pharma regional core supplier strategies with IMMs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to proactively identify potential threats and opportunities.
Human Resource Management
  • Together with Talent acquisition recruit and select a right qualifications & experiences staff according to staffing plan.
  • Lead, direct, evaluate and develop a team to ensure that the business strategy and activities are implemented effectively and consistently.
  • Ensure the remuneration structure is competitive, above market average and reflect individual performances.
Others
  • Perform other activities as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Technologies, Pharmacy, Chemistry engineering or any related field

Experience: Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in Pharmaceutical & Nutraceuticals industry

  • Good business acumen and communication skills to build long-standing and successful relationships with customers.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify customer challenges, propose innovative solutions, and drive business growth.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills to navigate complex customer relationships and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Adapt & develop solutions as per customer needs with clear & decisive communication.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, extract insights, and make data driven decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Good understanding with Salesforce CRM software and other relevant tools
  • Ability to travel to visit customer as needed.
  • Strong Collaboration, negotiation, persuasion skills
  • Certification or training in sales, account management or customer relationship management is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined approach is essential.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, fluent in any SEA language is an added advantage.
