Business Development Executive / Manager
PhytoGaia – the first and only NutraIngredients-Asia Award-winning innovator in palm phytonutrients — is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to spearhead initiatives that drive growth and establish key business relationships. The ideal candidate will combine a strong scientific foundation with proven commercial acumen and communication skills to expand PhytoGaia’s presence and foster business expansion in Asia/ Southeast Asia and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within key strategic markets, particularly across Asia/Southeast Asia.
- Research and analyze market information, explore and identify opportunities for growth in strategic market segments, including dietary supplements, health foods, cosmetics/personal care, pet foods/supplements, and animal feeds, particularly across Asia/ Southeast Asia.
- Secure new customers and/or distributors and develop new potential markets and market segments for PhytoGaia’s range of products.
- Service and maintain existing customers in terms of their needs and requirements for PhytoGaia’s range of products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors and research partners.
- Forecast customer needs and submit sales reports regularly.
- Formulate and implement sales & marketing strategies as well as product development strategies in assigned markets.
- Develop and prepare technical literature and support for customers.
- Visit customers locally and overseas to conduct technical presentations as needed to showcase company products and services.
- Plan and manage trade exhibitions for the company and attend these events to prospect for sales and new customers.
- Coordinate advertising and media relations for PhytoGaia’s range of products in assigned markets.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing and R&D to ensure customer success.
- Think critically and strategically to ensure the success of projects and initiatives.
- Undertake other science, research, and marketing-related responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Food Technology/Nutrition, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant business development experience within the Dietary Supplements, Functional Foods & Beverages, Pet Foods/Supplements, or Personal Care/Cosmetic sectors.
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record in executing successful growth strategies.
- Excellent organizational skills and strategic thinking.
- Proficiency in oral and written English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin for candidates who will be serving Mandarin-speaking customers.
- Ability to understand and communicate scientific and technical information effectively.
- Goal-oriented with a sharp focus on achieving results.
