Job description

UrbanMetry is a city data company that uses spatial data and advanced analytics to help corporations make informed business decisions and build better cities. Our clients span the property, banking, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and retail sectors—high-impact industries where location matters. We don’t sell platforms or off-the-shelf reports. We solve business problems through tailored intelligence, deep client understanding, and professional rigour.

This role is a combination of client-facing and behind-the-scenes work. You’ll play a key role in keeping the business development process organised and running by tracking leads, managing proposals, and supporting the team, while gaining exposure to shadow client interactions, managing accounts, and eventually leading conversations.

If you're just looking for a commission or a title, this role is not for you. We’re looking for someone who takes personal ownership of client problems—someone who listens well, asks the right questions, and truly wants to help.

Requirements
What You’ll Do
  • Keep the BD team running: track leads, prepare proposals, manage sales funnels, schedule meetings, and support invoicing and collections
  • Join client meetings to listen for concerns and translate them into actionable deliverables
  • Bridge clients and the internal team to ensure insights turn into impact
  • Be present where you’re needed most—in the office, on-site, or alongside clients
  • Stay curious, learn fast, and anticipate what clients need before they ask
Who You Are
  • A strong listener with high emotional intelligence—you pick up on what’s said and unsaid.
  • You take ownership of problems, even when they aren’t “yours,” and see them through.
  • Organised, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts.
  • Curious about how businesses operate and how data helps them make better decisions.
  • Open to learning and unafraid to ask questions or admit what you don’t know.
  • Adaptable and confident in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
What You Bring
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales support, client services, or business development.
  • Clear, thoughtful communicator in both writing and conversation.
  • Willingness to travel locally for meetings.
  • Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools.
  • Background in business, marketing, or analytics is a plus—but mindset matters more.
Why Join Us
  • Tackle real business problems and work with high-impact clients from day one.
  • Learn from the founding team in a culture that values contribution over hierarchy.
  • Be part of a mission-driven organisation that puts people first.
  • Grow fast in a company that builds people—not just careers.
