Business Development Account Manager

The Business Development Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, managing and expanding existing client relationships, and promoting BD’s innovative medical technology solutions within the assigned territory.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business development plans to grow the Medical Delivery Solutions portfolio in the government sector, including the MOE institutes and MOF institutes in the Central Region.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities including tenders, strategic partnerships, and key account conversions.
  • Collaborate with regional and global teams to align local strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Maintain and grow the government APPL tenders by managing the key collaborators including the tender agents, purchasing departments, and clinical decision authorities.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with essential contacts, including Head of Departments, procurement teams, and clinical decision‑makers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, product presentations, and solution‑based discussions to drive portfolio adoption.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with strategic accounts.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions.
  • Position BD’s Medical Delivery Solutions as the standard for quality and efficiency in delivering medications and infusions.
  • Support marketing initiatives including workshops, webinars, and product launches.
Cross‑functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to ensure flawless execution of business plans.
  • Provide feedback to global teams on product performance, customer needs, and market dynamics.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field, with equivalent experience considered.
  • 3–5 years of proven sales or business development experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Strong understanding of the Malaysian healthcare market and regulatory landscape is helpful.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with diverse customers.
  • Self‑motivated, results‑oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel frequently in the specified region.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation.
  • Solid knowledge of government sectors and APPL tender processes is a plus.
