Job Description
Wood is recruiting for a BIM Engineer to join its Malaysia Business Unit, supporting the delivery of large‑scale data center construction projects. The role will operate as part of the Onsite Owner’s Representative team, acting on behalf of the Owner to execute day‑to‑day BIM/VDC coordination, model management, QA/QC, and digital deliverables across the project lifecycle.

The Role
The BIM Engineer will act as the Owner’s Representative for project BIM/VDC execution, supporting Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM360 administration, enforcing BEP standards, coordinating AE and GC models, and driving clash resolution and model quality. The role enables downstream uses including 4D schedule integration, quantity take‑offs (QTO), reality capture alignment, commissioning readiness, CMMS asset data templating, and record model close‑out.
This position requires hands‑on model coordination experience in mission‑critical, fast‑track environments, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across design, construction, commissioning, and operations stakeholders.

Responsibilities
BIM/VDC Execution & Administration
- Support setup and day‑to‑day administration of the Owner’s ACC/BIM360 environment: project workspace configuration, user access, permissions, and folder structure
- Assist the BIM Manager in reviewing and enforcing AE/GC BIM Execution Plan (BEP) requirements; manage redline incorporation and track compliance actions
- Maintain robust standards for model structure, naming conventions, data schemas, version control, and transmittals
- Coordinate multidisciplinary models between AE and GC; monitor transitions from design to construction models and ensure alignment with BEP and Owner requirements
- Perform QA/QC checks at milestones; run clash detection routines, track issues, and drive resolution with accountable parties
- Capture meeting minutes for BIM coordination sessions, assign actions/POCs, and follow through to closure
Planning Integration & QTO
- Assist with 4D (schedule) integration and BIM‑enabled construction sequencing in collaboration with planning teams
- Support QTO delivery by preparing model‑based quantities, validating data, and aligning outputs to program milestones to remove blockers
- Aggregate BIM data inputs for dashboards and business intelligence reports as requested
Field Verification & Reality Capture
- Support implementation and integration of reality capture workflows (e.g., drone imagery, LiDAR scanning) to validate model‑to‑site conditions
- Participate in BIM‑purpose site walks and inspections, documenting deviations and coordinating updates in the model
- Coordinate with Data Center Operations (DCOps) CMMS teams to finalize asset templates in the model and extract accurate asset lists
- Track GC record model progress and redline processes; assist in reviewing and approving record BIM models, shop drawings, and fit‑out drawings for compliance
- Contribute to documentation close‑out, including activity reports, QA/QC check reports, clash and standards compliance, BIM assessments, and monthly status summaries

Expected:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5–10 years of BIM/VDC experience on large‑scale construction projects; data center or mission‑critical experience is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM360, authoring tools (e.g., Revit), and coordination tools (e.g., Navisworks)
- Hands‑on experience with BEP compliance, model QA/QC, clash detection, 4D integration, QTO workflows, and record model close‑out
- Strong communication and coordination skills across design, construction, commissioning, and operations stakeholders
