Job description

As Regional Bid Management Director for MEAPIN, you lead the Middle East, India, and Asia Pacific Bid Management teams within the Compression business, with a clear focus on capturing New Equipment opportunities. You ensure customer projects are supported with robust bid strategies from RFQ through Order Intake, working in close collaboration with Regional Sales VPs and Commercial Sales counterparts.

Because the front end of the business is largely people‑driven, you are accountable for developing regional Bid Management talent—both technically and soft skill—and ensuring that critical competencies are built and sustained. Leveraging your technical and commercial expertise, you guide the team to optimize winning probabilities while effectively managing commercial and technical risk.

You are actively involved in global improvement initiatives and change management efforts aimed at increasing responsiveness, competitiveness, and quality during the bid phase, while ensuring full adherence to governance and risk processes.

Operating within a global Bid Management organization, you balance workload across regions, share best practices, and ensure strong regional proximity to customers for best‑in‑class responsiveness. This role reports directly to the Global VP of Bid Management.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Partner within the Sales Triangle (Regional Sales VP, Regional Commercial Sales Head, and Regional Bid Management Director) to achieve regional order intake targets, while communicating progress, risks, and support needs to senior leadership.
  • Manage regional workload and prioritization across three independently led teams, leveraging the global Bid Management network for load balancing and best‑practice sharing.
  • Provide technical and commercial leadership on bid strategy, including Bid / No‑Bid decisions, utilizing deep expertise in rotating equipment and a strong understanding of the competitive landscape to improve tender success rates.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop regional Bid Managers, driving engagement, capability growth, and clear priority setting aligned with Sales, Bid Management, and Commercial objectives.
  • Serve as a key interface to the execution organization, ensuring visibility of the opportunity pipeline (S&OP), timely project releases, and high‑quality project handovers.
  • Navigate complex matrix environments by constructively challenging inputs, driving alignment, and maintaining strong cross‑functional and regional stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure proposals fully comply with governance and risk requirements, while acting as a change agent to improve tools, processes, competitiveness, and overall bid execution quality.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Bid Management or a related role, preferably within rotating equipment or capital projects.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience, ideally managing multi‑regional or cross‑functional teams.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high‑performing regional teams with a strong collective drive to win.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, and disciplined risk management.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills within complex organizational environments.
  • High cultural awareness with experience working across diverse regions; willingness to travel internationally up to 20%. Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is preferred.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
