Qualifications

• Deep technical knowledge in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including PCS, BMS, and EMS.
• Experience in designing solutions for peak shaving and backup power.
• Ability to prepare and validate technical designs and layout drawings.

Responsibilities

• Engage with manufacturers and support FAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical documents including spec sheets and proposals.
• Train team members on BESS fundamentals and develop internal SOPs.

Job description

BESS Specialist Engineer (Battery Energy Storage Systems)

Acquire deep technical knowledge in BESS (PCS, BMS, EMS, batteries, fire suppression, cabling, protections).

Specialize in solution design for: peak shaving, backup power, load shifting, PV integration, etc.

Prepare and validate technical designs, SLDs, layout drawings (with drafter support).

Understand containerized BESS systems (100kWh – multi-MWh).

Engage with manufacturers.

Attend and lead remote/onsite OEM training sessions.

Become the internal subject matter expert for BESS systems.

Support FAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Provide technical support for on‑site inspections and installation partners.

Prepare technical documents (spec sheets, proposals, method statements, test reports).

Support sales team with technical presentations, sizing and design and product comparison & solution design.

Join client meetings to explain BESS solutions clearly and confidently.

Develop internal SOPs, training materials, checklists.

Train other engineers and sales engineers on BESS fundamentals.

Build a technical backup so the company is not dependent on one person.
