Overview

UCSI Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to deliver high-quality instruction that promotes students’ physical fitness, motor skills development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong healthy habits. The successful candidate will foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports students’ physical, social, and emotional development within an internationally-minded school community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective Physical Education lessons for Lower and/or Upper Secondary students, aligned with the school’s curriculum framework (e.g., National Curriculum, Cambridge, or equivalent).
  • Teach a broad range of physical activities, including fitness, athletics, games, sports skills, movement education, and health-related physical education.
  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans, instructional resources, and assessments that support physical development, skill progression, and personal fitness goals.
  • Foster a student-centered, active, and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, teamwork, and fair play.
  • Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse student abilities, fitness levels, and learning needs.
  • Promote physical literacy, healthy lifestyles, leadership skills, and positive attitudes toward physical activity.
  • Ensure student safety by implementing appropriate risk assessments, supervision, and safe practices during all physical activities.
  • Integrate technology and digital tools (e.g., fitness tracking apps, Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom) to support learning, assessment, and communication.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of student performance and participation.
  • Prepare student progress reports and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student development and well-being.
  • Maintain positive classroom and field management, fostering respect, responsibility, and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum alignment and support interdisciplinary learning initiatives.
  • Organise and participate in school sports events, competitions, co-curricular activities, and outdoor education programs.
  • Participate in professional development activities and contribute to the school’s holistic education initiatives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Exercise Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Diploma in Education, B.Ed, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in Physical Education at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of physical education pedagogy, sports skills, fitness training, and assessment practices.
  • Effective classroom, field, and behavior management skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse cultural and athletic backgrounds.
  • Experience teaching in international or private school settings is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards, first aid, and injury prevention.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and online learning platforms.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and innovative teaching practices.
