Job description

Lemax Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a skilled and proactive Automation Field Service Engineer in Senai Airport City, Johor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing industrial automation equipment such as welding automation systems, film application systems, and dispensing automation systems at client sites. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking and electrical theory, and experience or knowledge in reading electrical drawings and utilizing them for troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems and perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying own technical knowledge and experience to resolve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills must be able to clearly articulate messages, both technical and non-technical.
  • Handle customer service-related issues while fostering the customer relationship and working to solve technical problems on site.
  • Accurately document the work that is performed at a customer facility and/or project staging area. Professionally document work completed on periodic preventive maintenance as well as intermittent corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, production teams, and customers to resolve issues promptly.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and willingness to work in demanding environments with little or no supervision and take initiative to be proactive.
  • Travel to customer sites on a moment’s notice, which may include long hours, nights, weekends and holiday work.
To succeed in this role, you need to have:
  • Diploma or above in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Automation Field Service Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting and maintaining industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, robotic systems, and automation software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international) to customer sites (50% of the time) (China, Vietnam & India).
  • Must fluency in Mandarin is preferred for liaising with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

Working hours: Mon-Fri (8:30 a.m.- 6 p.m.)
