A local accounting firm is looking for a Tax Assistant in Ipoh, Malaysia. The role includes performing substantive testing, preparing financial statements, and assisting with tax compliance. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Perform substantive and control testing, including bank confirmations, debtors/creditors confirmations, fixed asset verification, and inventory count attendance.
Help in the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., MPERS/MFRS).
Assist in the preparation and submission of tax computation and statutory forms for corporate tax compliance.
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or Business related. Fresh graduates (including those with an unrelated basic degree) are highly encouraged to apply.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly organized, meticulous, and detail-oriented.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word). Familiarity with any accounting software is an advantage.
