A leading insurance provider in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Junior Claims Assessor responsible for reviewing takaful claims, verifying coverage, and ensuring efficient processing. The ideal candidate should possess a tertiary qualification in science or mathematics, have basic knowledge of takaful policies, and strong analytical skills. The role includes collecting relevant documents, assisting in fraud detection, and maintaining accurate claim records. A junior claims assessor is responsible for reviewing takaful claims, verifying certificate coverage, assessing settlements, justifying repudiations and ensuring claims are processed fairly & efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
Review and assess takaful claims based on certificate terms and conditions
Collect and analyse necessary documentation such as medical reports, police reports, etc.
Communicate with claimants, certificate holders, service providers, external source (doctors/police/relevant organisations), internal company personnel and third parties’ administrators personnel to gather required information.
Assist in detecting fraudulent claims and escalating suspicious cases
Work closely with senior assessors and claims managers to finalise claim decisions
Maintain accurate claim records and update internal system as per standard operating procedures
Provide customer service and support to claimants throughout the claim process
Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
Tertiary qualification, preferably in science, biomedical science, mathematics and/or with insurance or takaful qualification/certification as added advantage
Basic knowledge of takaful/insurance policies and claims handling
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
Good communication and negotiation capabilities
Ability to work under pressure and meeting daily productivity targets
High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
