Assistant Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural)

Job Type: Full-Time

Year Experience: 5 years

Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  2. Check materials used and workmanship quality.
  3. Assist the RE in reviewing technical submissions: method statements, shop drawings, material approvals, and work programs.
  4. Coordinate with the contractor’s team to resolve technical issues on site.
  5. Maintain daily site diary and progress reports.
  6. Review QA/QC reports, HSE reports, and measurement records.
  7. Assist in preparing interim payment claims and verifying contractor’s progress claims.
  8. Attend technical meetings, site coordination meetings, and authority inspections.
  9. Liaise with consultants, contractors, and clients on work progress and issues.
  10. Conduct site inspections and witness testing of materials and installations.
  11. Prepare and verify defect lists during pre-handover and final inspection stages.
  12. Ensure site safety practices are followed.
  13. Report any non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
  14. Inspect works related to pipelines, pumping stations, and treatment plants.
  15. Liaise with utility authorities for technical approvals.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  2. Prefer experience in construction site related with Civil Engineering.
  3. Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
  4. Familiarity with local policies and legal guidelines.
  5. Ability to work independently with proactive and positive attitude.
  6. Strong knowledge of local construction standards, safety regulations, and QA/QC procedures.
  7. Good communication and report-writing skills.
