A manufacturing firm located in Malaysia is seeking a Production Supervisor to assist in developing and coordinating production plans. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with 3–8 years of experience in the sheet metal fabrication industry. Responsibilities include supervising a production team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and coordinating with multiple departments to meet delivery schedules. Strong knowledge of CNC and related processes is essential.
Assist in developing daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders, capacity, and material availability.
Monitor production flow to avoid bottlenecks and meet delivery schedules.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
Supervise operators, fabricators, welders, and machine technicians on the shop floor.
Coordinate with departments such as engineering, design, procurement, and quality control.
Ensure manufactured components meet design specifications and quality standards.
Enforce workplace safety policies and use of PPE.
Report and prevent accidents, near-miss incidents, and unsafe practices.
Coordinate with stores and purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials (sheet metal, fasteners, consumables).
Monitor material usage, scrap reduction, and inventory accuracy.
Ensure proper handling and storage of sheets, dies, tools, and fixtures.
Work with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance on CNC machines, press brakes, welding equipment, compressors, etc.
Minimize unplanned downtime through early detection of equipment issues.
Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
3–8 years experience in sheet metal fabrication industry.
Knowledge of CNC, Machining, welding, grinding, powder coating, and assembly.
Experience supervising a production team.
