About The Role

We're looking for an Assistant Manager, Customs who will be the anchor between Teleport, customs authorities, and our regional operations. In this role, you will oversee and optimise customs processes across local and global markets, ensuring everything we do is accurate, compliant, and future‑ready.

You will manage customs documentation, liaise closely with authorities, and step in to resolve issues whenever things get messy. Beyond daily operations, you will also help build long‑term capabilities—developing processes, driving training, implementing automation, and elevating customs knowledge within the organisation.

This role is ideal for someone who is structured, detail‑driven, calm under pressure, and not afraid to roll up their sleeves when the situation demands it. If you enjoy putting order and clarity into fast‑moving environments and want to contribute to a logistics network that moves Southeast Asia, this is your place.

  • Manage local and global customs processes, ensuring all documentation is accurate, compliant, and submitted on time.
  • Develop, review, and improve customs workflows and SOPs to ensure regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve issues that arise in customs processes, ensuring full compliance across all cargo operations.
  • Act as the key liaison with local customs authorities and government agencies for all regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify automation opportunities that improve operational speed and accuracy.
  • Build customs knowledge and capabilities across the company, including tracking training and certification needs.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date understanding of import/export regulations, trade requirements, and regional customs developments.
  • Step in hands‑on whenever critical customs issues arise, providing structure and clarity when things escalated.
Requirements
  • Experience managing customs regulatory matters and engaging directly with authorities.
  • Strong judgment in balancing customer needs, compliance requirements, and business priorities.
  • Experience managing customs operations remotely in other countries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Experience conducting presentations, delivering training, or leading skills‑development sessions.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Kursus Ejen Kastam (KEK) certification.
  • Deep knowledge of Southeast Asian trade and customs regulations.
  • Proven leadership or managerial experience in customs or logistics operations.

We're all about creating a diverse, inclusive, and fast‑moving team where everyone feels valued. We believe that different perspectives make us stronger and help us do logistics better across Southeast Asia.

If you're passionate about enabling creative work to happen faster, better, and smoother, we'd love to hear from you.

📩 Apply now and help us move creativity faster, cheaper, and better. Teleport it.
