Job summary

A leading construction and development firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced professional in Quantity Surveying. The role requires managing feasibility studies, budget reviews, and administering tender evaluations. Candidates must possess a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the building industry. Strong knowledge in cost control and contract management is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the building industry, preferably with consultant QS and developer firms.
  • Good working knowledge of Pre and Post Contract Works.
  • Ability to handle Contractual Issues, Cost Control and Budget.

Job description
1. Feasibility & Budget Review

Assist to prepare feasibility study and quarterly budget review.

2. Budget & Construction Cost Control
  • Compile and analyse design and cost data.
3. Suppliers (Contractors and CQS)
  • Source and conduct registration and Pre-Qualification evaluation.
4. Tender & Award (procurement of work packages)
  • Administer and review tender document preparation, prepare tender document whenever necessary.
  • Prepare, administer, review and recommend shortlisting of tenderer.
  • Evaluate, review and analyse tender submission and tender report.
  • Prepare award memo and Letter of Award.
5. Construction Management
  • Prepare and update Financial Statement when necessary.
  • Evaluate and review VO claims.
  • Prepare and review Progress Claims and Final Account.
  • Review contractual claims.
6. Consultants Engagement
  • Prepare, administer, review and recommend shortlisting of CQS.
  • Evaluate, review and analyse proposal.
  • Prepare Letter of Appointment and Consultant Engagement Agreement.
  • Prepare and review professional claims.
General

To implement all relevant policies, procedures and work instructions as defined in the Company’s Quality Management System.

Job Requirements
  • Possess Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Minimum 5 years experience of relevant in building industry, preferably with consultant QS and developer firm.
  • Good working knowledge of Pre and Post Contract Works, Contractual Issues, Cost Control and Budget.
  • Good working attitude, a high level of professionalism, initiative and integrity.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
