Job summary

A major asset servicing firm is seeking an Assistant Manager for Accounting & Reporting Services in Putrajaya, Malaysia. The role involves overseeing fund accounting activities and ensuring timely executions, as well as providing coaching and monitoring team performance. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree and possess 6-10 years of relevant experience in fund accounting or financial services, with knowledge of IFRS and USGAAP preferred. Proficiency in automation skills such as VBA or Python is advantageous.

Supplementary Information
What will you do?
Production and Supervision
  • Oversee and support day to day work of PERES Fund Accounting ensuring accurately and timely execution of agreed process and execute complex fund accounting activities.
  • Adhere to key service level agreements and support coaching to GG10 & GG12.
  • Perform quality checks or second level validation on output from the team.
  • All deadlines need to be monitored & any issues escalated & communicated appropriately to stakeholders & clients.
  • Ensure that escalation protocol to Management is strictly adhered to in case of operational issues and events.
Monitoring & Escalation
  • Act as escalation point for the Fund Accounting oversight, execution of complex process and control functions, ensure high quality of allocated deliverables and providing backup relief to for staff and deal with escalated issues/queries.
  • Monitor individual and team performance, providing regular feedback and coaching to address performance issue and encourage development.
  • Identify and address obstacle or challenges that may impede team progress or performance.
Risk Management
  • Maintain effective process controls and procedures are documented, maintained and adhere to.
  • Mitigate the risk of errors by suggesting appropriate controls and enhancing procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for future reference and audit purposes.

Candidate criteria
Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA and etc.
Level of minimal experience

6-10 years

Experience
  • Experience in Fund Accounting and/or Financial Reporting and/or Auditing and/or Business Administration with a focus on financial services and preferably fund structure.
  • Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices such as IFRS, USGAAP.
Required skills
  • Additional automation skills such as VBA, Python and etc. are an added advantage.
