Job summary

A food manufacturing company in Johor, Kulai, is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader to oversee the maintenance programs for production machinery and facility systems. Responsibilities include managing a team, ensuring minimal downtime, and adhering to food safety compliance standards such as HACCP and GMP. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering, 5-8 years of relevant experience, and strong leadership skills. This role demands flexibility and responsiveness to facility issues as they arise.

Qualifications

  • At least 5–8 years of relevant experience in plant maintenance, preferably in food or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Proven experience managing or supervising WWTP operations in compliance with Malaysian DOE standards.
  • Familiar with food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, BRC), DOE and DOSH regulatory requirements.

Job description

Lead the maintenance team in planning, executing, and improving preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production machinery, utilities, and facility systems.

Ensure minimal equipment downtime through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Monitor and manage spare parts inventory and procurement in alignment with operational needs.

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and BRC standards.

Coordinate with production, QA/QC, and other departments to align maintenance with operational priorities.

Oversee daily operation and maintenance of the WWTP to ensure compliance with Department of Environment (DOE) regulations.

Monitor effluent quality and maintain accurate records for internal reporting and government compliance.

Supervise the WWTP team and ensure all procedures follow environmental and safety guidelines.

Lead improvement initiatives to enhance water recovery, treatment efficiency, and energy savings.

Team Leadership and Administration:

Supervise and develop a team of technicians and WWTP operators.

Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluation to ensure team competency.

Manage maintenance budget, vendor relationships, and external service contracts.

Prepare reports for internal audit, management reviews, and regulatory inspections.

Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
