A technology firm in Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the IT infrastructure and security initiatives. You will manage assets like laptops and network hardware, ensure the compliance with ISO 27001, and automate workflows to streamline processes. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience in IT infrastructure or security roles with a strong foundation in cybersecurity frameworks. We’re looking for an experienced IT Manager to lead our infrastructure, security, and automation initiatives - ensuring everything runs efficiently, securely, and seamlessly.
Manage and troubleshoot IT assets (laptops, printers, network hardware).
Oversee firewalls, VPNs, and access controls to maintain secure connectivity.
Maintain internal databases with proper backups and permissions.
Implement and monitor security protocols across systems and endpoints.
Detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
Keep systems and software updated with regular patches.
Ensure data encryption, secure backups, and password/access management.
Maintain compliance with ISO 27001, CIS, PDPA, GDPR, and related standards.
Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and follow up on action plans.
Collaborate with the Data Team on privacy and security controls.
Develop and update IT policies; conduct staff security training.
Manage user onboarding/offboarding processes.
Automate workflows and Google Workspace administration using scripts.
5-7 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar IT infrastructure/security role.
Strong knowledge of: Windows and/or Linux system administration; Firewalls (e.g.,Sophos), network security; and Backup systems and disaster recovery planning.
Familiar with cloud services (GWS) and other available SaaS tools.
Familiar with basic database administration (MySQL/PostgreSQL) for internal tools.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
Ability to document and communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
