Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required, master's degree or MBA highly valued.

Job description

Responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of an organization’s financial reports. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting standards, and it provides crucial financial insights to support strategic decision‑making. The position reports directly to the GM, Group Finance.

Core Responsibilities
  • Report preparation and delivery: Oversees the preparation of all required financial reports, including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flow, for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensures the company’s financial reports and processes adhere to all relevant regulations, such as MFRS, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules.
  • Financial closing: Manages the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial closing processes to ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
  • Internal controls: Develops and maintains a robust system of internal financial controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • External Audit coordination: Serves as the primary point of contact for external auditors during financial audits, providing all necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Tax submission and coordination: Serves as the primary point of contact for external tax agent during mid tax finalisation, year end tax audits and any tax related enquiries from Tax Authority or Custom Office.
  • Transfer Pricing coordination: Serves as the primary point of contact for preparation of annual TP documentation, providing all necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Detailed Financial analysis: Analyzes complex financial data to identify trends, forecast future performance, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Team leadership: Leads and mentors the financial reporting team, fostering a culture of high performance and professional development.
Essential Skills & Qualifications

A successful Head of Financial Reporting possesses a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking.

Qualifications (Compulsory)

Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, with a master's degree or an MBA highly valued.

Professional certification: A professional accounting certification, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Experience: Extensive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

Skills

Regulatory knowledge: A comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS), and compliance requirements is critical.

Technical proficiency: Expertise in accounting software, financial databases, and advanced spreadsheet skills is essential for managing and analyzing financial data.

Strategic thinking: The ability to analyze financial data and translate it into insights that support long‑term business strategy is vital.

Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary to clearly articulate complex financial information to both financial and non‑financial stakeholders, including the executive team and board members.

Leadership: The ability to manage and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and oversee projects is a core requirement.
