We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Finance Manager to oversee all aspects of our accounting operations and drive financial excellence.
Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems including general ledger and financial reporting, ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with Financial Reporting Standards, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Coordinate, prepare, review, and ensure the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; lead/project manage the external audit of all gym entities, including liaising with external audit firms.
- Develop annual budget and reforecast for each managed gym. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
- Analyse each gym’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
- Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
- Coordinate and/or prepare tax schedules, returns and information.
- Manage cash flow.
- Manage all tax planning and compliance with all required payroll and other applicable taxes.
- Provide leadership over all functions of finance in Philippine and Malaysia markets.
- Conduct regular meeting updates with finance and operation teams as necessary.
- Participate in the professional development of the finance teams per country in coordination with HR/Admin department.
- Review and update the policies and procedures on a timely and regular basis.
- Develop improved and consistent reporting and close processes.
- Develop improved shared services and AP/AR processes to shorten reporting cycle and improve cost efficiency.
- Assist with various ad-hoc finance-related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English – essential, high level of communication ability (native language skill level).
- Professional qualifications and experience needed (essential): Chartered Accountant (ICA or ACCA).
- Approximately 2‑5 years professional experience.
- Business or Finance degree (Bachelor or Masters).
- Experience working with / managing multinational / multi-cultural teams – essential.
- Franchise and retail experience – recommended.
- Experience working with start‑up business – recommended.
- Needs to have high level attention to detail and be organized.
- Self‑starter, able to work independently and drive changes to the current processes.
- Comfortable with working in a fast‑paced entrepreneurial environment.
- Needs to be an effective mature leader who can develop teams to improve performance.
