Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in engineering, e.g., electrical, mechanical, mechatronic or building automation engineering
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of any programming languages such as Matlab/Simulink, C++ or Python
- Able to work in construction/factory site environments
Additional Advantage
- Experience in programming and configuring BMS software platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens Desigo, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure
- Experience in programming and configuring PLC and DDC systems such as Distech Controls, EasyIO, Alerton ACM/VLC
- Experience in programming controls for HVAC systems such as AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, Chillers, and Cooling Towers
- Experience in configuring networking equipment such as Cisco, Aruba, Huawei, Mikrotik
Responsibilities
The Application Engineer is responsible for designing, programming, configuring Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and Cooling Management Systems (CMS) for clients in various industries. The main objective is to improve energy efficiency and reduce costs by identifying and implementing energy‑saving measures.
Engineering and Design
- Design and develop BMS/EPMS/CMS solutions tailored to the client’s specific needs
- Design resilient server and networking infrastructure for BMS, EPMS, and CMS solutions
- Develop system functional descriptions to achieve client required outcomes
- Sizing and configuration of the underlying server and network infrastructure
- Program and configure controllers (DDCs and PLCs) according to functional descriptions
- Develop UI/UX or Human Machine Interface (HMI) for end users
- Collaborate with principal providers and sales teams to provide overall solution architecture
Implementation and Commissioning
- Conduct system integration testing and commissioning to ensure performance meets design specifications and client expectations
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to execute integration testing
- Provide training and support to end users
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system specifications, installation guides, and user manuals
