Prudential is seeking a Tier 1 Analyst to join the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The GSOC provides Threat Detection and Incident Response services to Prudential Group’s local business units across Asia, Africa, and Europe. Operating on a tiered shift schedule, the GSOC includes junior, mid-level, and senior analysts who support one another. The Tier 1 Junior Analyst position is an entry-level role within the GSOC, requiring a self-motivated individual focused on learning and developing skills in defensive cybersecurity operations. This role involves working a shift schedule covering 24x7x365 operations and collaborating with T2 and T3 counterparts for cybersecurity event analysis and triage.

Responsibilities

The Tier 1 Analyst is an entry-level role focused on learning defensive cybersecurity operations. Key responsibilities include shift coverage for continuous 24x7x365 monitoring, collaboration with Tier 2 and Tier 3 analysts to triage and analyze cybersecurity events, and independent investigation of log data for anomalous or malicious activities.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work on-site at the Global Security Operations Centre for scheduled shifts.
  • Experience with standard cybersecurity detection tools.
  • Skilled in Windows, Linux, and MacOS operating systems.
  • Possession of cybersecurity certification(s) from reputable organizations or a strong motivation to obtain certification within the six months of employment.
  • Proficient in using cyber defense tools for continuous monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify malicious activities.
  • Comfortable working with highly complex, globally connected hybrid information systems that incorporate multiple locations, as well as on-premises and cloud assets.
  • Ability to break down large and complex items into manageable pieces while maintaining an understanding of the overall picture.
  • Experience in analyzing security events of varying severity levels and appropriately escalating incidents for detailed analysis and triage.
  • Capability to independently investigate and analyze log data for anomalous, suspicious, or malicious activities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, collaborate frequently, and share knowledge generously with peers.
  • Completion of a university internship or previous work experience in technology, Help Desk, or General IT roles.
  • Strong desire for professional growth, learning, and development.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
