Job description

Operate the ambulance in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to traffic laws and regulations.

Ensure the ambulance is properly maintained, and conduct routine checks of equipment and emergency supplies.

Transport patients to and from the hospital in a timely and efficient manner.

Provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients during transport.

Basic Life Support

Administer basic life support measures as needed during transport.

Monitor and respond to changes in the patient's condition, providing assistance as required.

Communication with Healthcare Team

Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, and emergency medical services personnel.

Report patient status and any changes during transport to ensure coordinated care.

Emergency Response

Respond promptly to emergency situations, providing assistance and following established protocols.

Collaborate with emergency medical services and other first responders as needed.

Documentation

Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient transports, including vital signs, interventions, and any incidents.

Ensure all required forms and reports are completed in accordance with hospital policies.

Vehicle Maintenance

Perform routine maintenance checks on the ambulance, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall vehicle condition.

Report any mechanical issues promptly for repairs.

Infection Control Practices

Adhere to infection control practices within the ambulance and during patient transport.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the ambulance.

Interact with patients in a compassionate and respectful manner, addressing their needs and providing reassurance during transport.
