Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including gathering medical history, performing physical examinations, and utilizing Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnostic techniques such as pulse and tongue diagnosis to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized acupuncture treatment plans based on patient assessments, incorporating various acupuncture techniques, point prescriptions, and modalities to address specific health conditions and promote overall well-being.
- Administer acupuncture treatments using sterile, single-use needles, adhering to strict Clean Needle Technique protocols to ensure patient safety and prevent infection.
- Prescribe and administer herbal medicine formulas based on TCM principles, considering individual patient needs, contraindications, and potential interactions with other medications.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, documenting treatment outcomes and communicating effectively with patients regarding their response to therapy.
- Provide patient education on acupuncture, TCM principles, and lifestyle modifications to promote self-care and enhance treatment outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and informed consent documentation, in compliance with relevant regulations and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as physicians, physiotherapists, and massage therapists, to provide integrated and holistic patient care.
- Stay informed about current research and developments in acupuncture and TCM, participating in continuing education activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
