A leading multinational in Penang is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee tax compliance and advisory functions. The role involves managing tax filings, audits, and providing strategic support for business initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with professional certification as a plus and 5–7 years of experience in taxation, particularly in the manufacturing sector. Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax laws and excellent communication skills are required.
Remark: We are open for the candidate who are Accounting background and familiar some tax related.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax filings including income tax, SST (Sales & Service Tax), withholding tax, and any other statutory tax obligations.
Manage tax audits and liaise with the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), Royal Malaysian Customs (RMCD), and other relevant authorities.
Tax provision calculations and reporting for monthly closing, budget, and statutory financial statements.
Provide tax advisory and planning support for business initiatives, expansions, and restructuring.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and evaluate their impact on the company’s operations.
Ensure compliance with Malaysia’s Income Tax Act, Customs Act, and other relevant tax regulations.
Work closely with external tax consultants, auditors, and legal advisors where necessary.
Support transfer pricing documentation and ensure intercompany transactions are properly documented and aligned with arm's-length principles.
Conduct internal tax training for finance and operations teams to promote tax awareness.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CTIM) is an added advantage.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in taxation, preferably with a mix of Big 4 and industry (manufacturing sector experience preferred).
Strong understanding of Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
Experience in SST, tax incentives (e.g., Pioneer Status, Investment Tax Allowance, Grants), and customs-related matters is a plus.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
High level of integrity, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience working with government incentives under MIDA and NCIA.
Familiarity with SAP.
Ability to manage cross-functional projects or regional tax matters and understanding of BEPS Pillar 2.0.
