Job summary

A prominent public listed company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage the full accounting cycle and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Responsibilities include overseeing cash flow activities, monitoring budgets, and liaising with auditors. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin. Strong skills in accounting principles and MS Excel are required for this role.

Job description
Responsibilities

Manage the full accounting cycle, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports and related documents;

Prepare and oversee the cash flow activities within the group to ensure fund allocation aligns with the established plans, and generate variance analysis reports;

Monitor the monthly and yearly budgets of subsidiary companies, and prepare detailed reports for analysis;

Act as a liaison with auditors (both internal and external), tax agents, ESG consultants, and relevant authorities when necessary;

Ensure that all year-end statutory audits and tax filing requirements are addressed and compliant with regulatory standards; and

Undertake special assignments and handle ad-hoc duties as needed.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree or Professional Certificate in Accountancy, or equivalent qualification.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced Public Listed Company (PLC) environment with tight deadlines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, and experience in an audit firm is required.
  • Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin languages; we are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
  • Strong knowledge in accounting, cash management, audit and taxation.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as MS Excel and Word.
  • Demonstrates high integrity, proactiveness, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and professionally.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills who can effectively supervise a team of subordinates.
