Job description
Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate consolidate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Bookkeeping: manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, including Goods and Services Tax (GST, if applicable), corporate tax, and withholding tax. Prepare and submit tax returns to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN).
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment of salaries, statutory deductions (e.g., EPF, SOCSO, EIS), and compliance with Malaysian labor laws.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, provide insights, and recommend cost-saving or efficiency-improving measures.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to Malaysian accounting regulations, anti-money laundering laws, and other relevant legal requirements.
  • System Management: Utilize accounting software to manage financial data and streamline processes.
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: Support management with financial advice, participate in strategic planning, and undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MICPA) will be an advantage.
  • A few years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Knowledge of MFRS, IFRS, and Malaysian tax regulations.
  • Familiar with accounting systems/software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Good understanding of payroll and statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB).
  • Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to meet deadlines.
