Job description

As a key member of our Finance & Accounting team, you will:

Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and monitoring of outstanding items.

Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing, including the preparation of financial statements, reports, supporting schedules, and related documentation.

Manage cash flow and treasury matters, and perform costing, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support effective decision-making.

Coordinate statutory audits and taxation matters, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, build rapport, and lead a team of accounting professionals.

Liaise and collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve accounting and financial issues promptly.

Travel to the Sandakan plantation as needed to conduct accounting audits and support financial closing activities. (if necessary)

Job Requirements:

Possesses Degree in Accounting or Professional Qualification (ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MIA).

7–10 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record of handling full-spectrum accounting responsibilities.

Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities, paired with sound financial judgment to support strategic decision-making.

A proactive team player with a positive attitude, able to work independently, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results under minimal supervision.

Proficient in UBS Accounting Software, as well as MS Office applications—particularly Excel.
