Job summary

A leading accounting firm in Malaysia is seeking an accounting professional in Kuantan, Pahang. The ideal candidate will prepare and maintain the full set of accounts, ensure compliance with audit and tax requirements, and manage petty cash. Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, and have 1–3 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting standards are essential. Proficiency in English, Malay, and Mandarin is preferred.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain company’s full set accounts, including all audit, tax computation and related matters.
  • Ensure timely & accurate monthly and yearly closing of accounts.
  • Ensure all accounting processes comply with internal guidelines, company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain the company’s petty cash float.
  • Prepare and process reimbursement claims on a weekly basis.
  • Receive, issue receipts and deposit all cheques collected from external and internal clients.
  • Prepare payment vouchers and other documentation for various company expenses.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation.
  • Maintain, update and organize accounting records and filing systems for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
  • Liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, company secretary and bankers on company accounting matters.
  • Undertake special assignments, ad hoc functions and other duties as and when requested by the superior.
What We’re Looking For
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant working experience in accounting (fresh graduates with strong academic background are encouraged to apply).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation and audit procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of UBS Accounting System is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in English, Malay, and Mandarin; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Willing to work in Kuantan, Pahang.
