The role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger and project accounting for construction and fiber infrastructure projects. The position ensures accurate financial recording, compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, and timely reporting to support business decision-making. This role also provides financial insights on project performance, assists with audits and regulatory submissions and supports the Finance Manager in driving efficient financial processes and controls.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. General Accounting
- Handle day-to-day accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries, maintain proper records, and ensure transactions are updated accurately.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
2. Accounts Payable (AP)
- Process supplier invoices, verify supporting documents, and ensure timely payments.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor retention sums, advance payments, and subcontractor claims.
3. Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Prepare customer invoices, progress.
4. Project Accounting (Construction / Fiber Infrastructure)
- Record project costs, expenses, and revenue recognition in line with contract terms.
- Track budgets versus actuals for projects.
- Assist in preparation of project financial reports and cash flow projections.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of draft financial statements.
- Assist in the monthly financial reporting.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of SST/GST, withholding tax, and other regulatory filings.
- Support audit requirements by preparing schedules and providing necessary documents.
6. Administrative & Support
- Maintain proper filing of accounting records and documents for audit purposes.
- Assist Senior Account Executive / Finance Manager in ad hoc tasks, reports, and analysis.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, tax agents, and other external parties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years working experience in accounting or auditing, preferably in construction / infrastructure / telecom industry.
- Familiar with project accounting, progress claims, and retention sums (advantage).
- Good knowledge of accounting standards and local tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SQL, Autocount, SAP) will have advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
