Overview
The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery to ensure that client objectives are met through an effective service. Interfaces with the client and other consultants at all project stages. Responsible for managing schedule and budgets, and for management of general contractors and other directly contracted vendors and consultants. The role includes reviewing construction, correcting and assessing work in place, and approving capital expenditure spends, including revision of cost estimates prepared by contractors and others within a client’s organization. This professional will also plan, organize, schedule, direct and control the delivery of the project on time.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end service delivery to meet client objectives and interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
- Manage project schedule and budgets; oversee general contractors and directly contracted vendors and consultants.
- Review construction work in place; approve capital expenditure spends and revise cost estimates as needed.
- Plan, organize, schedule, direct and control project delivery to meet timelines.
- Lead client-facing meetings and communicate project status to stakeholders.
- Identify and monitor risks, maintain the risk register, and conduct risk workshops as needed.
- Monitor construction costs and related data; generate reports as agreed with the client.
- Lead value engineering sessions and support design management for construction methods opportunities.
- Support engineering decisions affecting project cost and budget during design-build changes.
- Review payment requests and advocate on the client’s behalf during disputes or change orders.
- Track critical milestones to avoid schedule slips; ensure equipment aligns with the project schedule.
- Oversee transfer of building operations to the client, including close-out documentation and warranties.
- Maintain a collaborative, client-facing approach; develop strong relationships and present confidently to clients and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, identify issues early, and raise them for resolution.
- Deliver projects with a proven track record and demonstrate advanced skills in spreadsheets, report writing, and presentations.
- Lead and manage teams to deliver assignments and manage revenue, resources, and priorities to meet client expectations.
- Maintain high standards of quality and lead quality control actions; ensure health and environmental safety in construction.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; act as a self-starter and team player capable of motivating teams.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a project manager.
- Sector experience in industrial, manufacturing, hospitality/interiors, or retail.
- Experience in commissioning.
- Experience in LEED projects is a plus.
- Engineering or architectural degree with chartered status.
- Fluent in English and Spanish at a working level.
- Pmi or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 is a plus.
- Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of AutoCAD, BIM is a plus.
Skills and Qualifications
- Run and lead client and other required meetings, presenting updates to the client at all project stages.
- Stakeholder management: lead local client and report to global team.
- Manage risks and control the risk register; lead risk workshops as needed.
- Identify factors influencing construction costs and monitor/report on this data.
