Overview

As a Revenue Recognition Analyst at BMC, you will consult the territory managers during sales cycles on deal structuring to comply with revenue recognition guidelines, as well as reviewing and analyzing large software contracts and the documentation of significant terms. You will play a key role in evaluating processing workflows, identifying potential improvement areas, and managing the implementation of process changes/improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Gather facts, solve problems, and provide a detailed analysis of several facets of a transaction to determine the amount and timing of revenue recognition.
  • Prepare final revenue recognition accounting conclusions and supporting documentation for transactions in the respective territories.
  • Act as an educator and advisor to various groups on software revenue recognition best practices.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • You have a bachelor’s degree and experience identifying revenue recognition issues on incoming deals.
  • Your background includes preparation of revenue recognition documents for contracts, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
  • You have worked with Sales and Best Practices on contract issues providing suggestions and assistance for contract negotiation around contract parameters and requirements to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • You use your process driven mindset to evaluate workflows, identifying potential improvement areas and manage the implementation of those improvements.

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits. At BMC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is €44,400 - €74,000.
