Job summary

A leading renewable energy company in Indonesia is looking for an Engineer - Operations & Maintenance to ensure optimal performance of solar power plants. Job description
Engineer - Operations & Maintenance (Indonesia)

The Engineer - Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance and performance optimization of Cleantech Solar’s commercial and industrial (C&I) solar power plants across Indonesia. The role involves monitoring system performance, coordinating with O&M contractors, supporting troubleshooting activities and ensuring compliance with Cleantech’s safety, quality and operational standards. The O&M Engineer will also assist in the setting up of monitoring configurations and the handover of new systems from the Project team to the O&M team.

Responsibilities
1. System Monitoring & Performance Analysis
  • Carry out fieldwork at solar project sites and coordinate with contractors across multiple provinces in Indonesia.
  • Monitor daily system performance through monitoring platforms.
  • Analyze system data, identify performance deviations and recommend corrective actions to maintain optimal energy yield.
  • Prepare regular performance and maintenance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support data validation and performance benchmarking to ensure system accuracy and reliability.
  • Also collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Engineering and Asset Management.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Coordinate and manage preventive maintenance schedules to minimize system downtime.
  • Supervise and verify the quality of work performed by third-party contractors to ensure compliance with Cleantech’s operational and safety standards.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting and elevate complex issues to Senior Engineers or vendors where necessary.
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities, service reports and spare parts usage.
3. Contractor Supervision & Coordination
  • Serve as the main technical point of contact for contractors performing site maintenances, inspections or repair works.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Cleantech’s work permit and safety approval processes.
  • Review and validate contractor invoices, reports and documentation.
  • Oversee contractors to ensure timely response to faults and maintenance requests.
4. Support During Project Handover & Monitoring Setup
  • Support the Project team during site commissioning and handover to the O&M team.
  • Assist in setting up and verifying monitoring systems to ensure accurate and complete data collection.
  • Participate in site acceptance testing (SAT) and verify compliance with design and operational parameters.
5. Compliance, Safety & Reporting
  • Ensure that all site activities comply with local regulations, Cleantech’s EHS policies and relevant standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure contractors follow site safety requirements.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by management.
  • Support audits, inspections and performance reviews.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; other engineering disciplines may be considered (training provided).
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 3 years of experience in solar power or electrical systems are welcome to apply.
  • Good understanding or willingness to learn about solar PV system components, inverters, transformers and monitoring systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and coordination skills.
  • Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
  • Willing to travel to project sites, including occasional assignments in Indonesia.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle is preferred.
  • Salary will commensurate with experience.
