Job summary
A specialized care agency is seeking a Support Worker to assist young people leaving care in Weston-super-Mare. This role involves prompting daily tasks, encouraging independence, and supporting emotional wellbeing. Candidates should have over 1 year of experience and a Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People. The position offers £12.50 per hour with flexible hours.
Qualifications
- 1+ year experience supporting young people.
- DBS on the Update Service preferred.
- Energy, compassion, and a 'can-do' attitude.

Support Worker - Young People Leaving Care
Location: Weston-super-Mare (Single-Occupancy Flats). Temporary Role, £12.50 per hour + sleep in | Flexible Hours. Agency: Brook Street Social Care.
- Prompting with daily tasks: cooking, cleaning, laundry, filling in forms
- Encouraging independence and routine
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and resilience
- Promoting safe medication habits (where needed)
- Handling verbal challenges and emotional behaviours with care
- Lone working—but always part of a supportive team
- 1+ year experience supporting young people
- Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People
- DBS on the Update Service (preferred)
- Energy, compassion, and a "can do" attitude
- Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills
- No sponsorship available
This is a highly person-centred service supporting care leavers as they prepare for full independence. The team is caring, committed, and dedicated to helping each young person thrive. Most placements last 6-12 months, with the goal of moving into unsupported tenancies.
