A major healthcare provider in Norwich is hiring an SSD Technician for the Sterile Services department. The role includes reprocessing surgical instruments and involves physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods. The Sterile Services department (SSD) provides essential services of reprocessing surgical instruments and endoscopy for use within the trust and outside practices. As an SSD Technician you will work within a friendly skilled team, supporting clinical service providers. Responsibilities include decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilisation and distribution of surgical instrumentation to wards, departments, theatres and endoscopy. The role is physically demanding and requires pushing, pulling, lifting heavy instrument sets and standing for long periods. Traffic theatre equipment on trolleys. Work 1 weekend in 3 and 2 bank holidays per year. Shifts 14:00 - 22:00 hrs.
