A local youth charity in the UK is seeking a Youth Support Worker to engage with young people aged 8-17, delivering supportive activities and promoting personal development. The role offers £12.21 per hour for 9 hours weekly, with opportunities for flexibility in arrangements. Applicants should commit to training and be available for evening and weekend work.
The key focus of the role is building relationships with young people and involving them in shaping, designing, planning and delivering Youth work activities in Chard. The post is part of the Community Youth Project, an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation in South Somerset, and the Youth Support Worker reports to the Community Youth Project manager.
The Community Youth Project is an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation providing youth work services to communities within South Somerset. The organisation is run by Trustees and a Management Group; employees are supported by a paid part-time Project Manager. The Youth Support Worker will be line managed by the Community Youth Project Manager. The project aims to increase the quality and range of opportunities for young people across communities and will work closely with the Youth Worker, Community Youth Project Manager and the delivery Community Management Committee.
The post holder is expected to commit to ongoing personal development for current and future role requirements, regular supervision, annual appraisal, and uptake of in-service training opportunities.
The post holder will implement CYP policies and procedures and contribute to the annual Service Level Agreement. The role requires a creative approach to developing and delivering opportunities for young people, including determining mechanisms to facilitate engagement and successful delivery.
Youth Centre and community-based work as required; regular evening youth sessions; regular attendance at staff meetings and professional supervision; considerable unsociable hours, evenings and weekends; some outdoor work.
