Role Overview

This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated IT professional with strong Microsoft SQL skills and a broad IT knowledge base. You’ll be much more than a helpdesk technician—you’ll be the company’s primary go-to expert for all IT matters, managing everything from routine support tasks to leading system design and integration projects that support growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for all IT needs across the business.
• Manage ITSM tickets and resolve a wide range of IT issues.
• Support and maintain Microsoft SQL databases, including reporting, management, and backups.
• Provide Active Directory administration and manage user accounts.
• Lead the implementation and integration of new systems and technologies.
• Offer technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, and Windows Server environments.
• Troubleshoot basic networking issues, including routers, switches, VPNs, and Wi-Fi.
• Work closely with external IT vendors, service providers, and software suppliers.
• Monitor system performance and security proactively, identifying and resolving risks.
• Manage IT assets, licensing, and access permissions.
• Document IT procedures, generate internal reports, and support ongoing IT improvement projects.

Skills and Experience

• Solid experience as an IT Technician or Systems Engineer.
• Proficient with Microsoft SQL, including backups and reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of Active Directory.
• Comfortable providing 1st to 3rd line support in a small to mid-sized business environment.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server and end-user devices.
• Networking knowledge (switches, routers, VPN, wireless connectivity).
• Excellent organisational, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
• Able to work independently, take ownership, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
