Job summary
A reputable automotive services provider in Cheswick Green is seeking a Diagnostic Technician to diagnose and repair vehicle issues, perform routine maintenance, and communicate with customers. The ideal candidate will have proven experience and relevant qualifications, including a full UK driving licence. Competitive salary of up to £34,000 per annum plus bonus, OTE £50,000, with benefits including pension and generous holiday allowance.

Location: Solihull
Salary: up to £34,000 basic per annum plus bonus and overtime, OTE £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, Saturdays on rota, paid as overtime

- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections)
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex problems
- Maintain accurate records of all work and parts used
- Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and recommend appropriate repairs
- Keep the work area clean and well‑organised
- Stay current with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, with a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair)
- MOT qualification is a significant advantage
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong attention to detail and excellent diagnostic skills
- Must have a well equipped toolbox appropriate for workshop duties
