We are excited to offer a permanent Carpenter & Joiner opportunity in HMP Manchester, 1 Southall Street, Manchester M60 9AH.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between Saturday to Thursday 08:00 - 17:00; Friday 08:00 - 16:00. There will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, on a rota basis with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

At Amey, we support His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.

• Carry out joinery work including repairing doors, windows, signposts, formwork and other bespoke timber items.
• Responsible for the joinery workshop: maintenance of machines, statutory inspections, housekeeping and cleanliness.
• Measure and quote for works.
• Order materials and maintain stock of Building Maintenance material.

• Organisation in work, with attention to detail.
• Manual tool handling.
• Ladder use.
• Level 3 in Joinery & Carpentry is required; however, NVQ level 2 may be considered.
• Experience in Maintenance.
