Specialist Area – Complex Obesity. To further develop, manage and co‑ordinate a community dietetic service for a defined specialist client group, Level 2 and Specialist Weight Management. Clinical work will involve working closely with an MDT comprising Medical, Nursing, Psychological, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy specialties.

The role includes operational management of a Level 2 team of specialist Dietitians and Health Care Support Workers, shared with the Diabetes Specialist Team Leader to provide the Chronic Conditions Management Community Service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

• Management and delivery of the overall dietetic service to the specialist weight‑management service, including all stages of development, implementation and evaluation. Working in partnership with key stakeholders to enable delivery of the service objectives within available resources.
• Collaborate with the psychologist to design, deliver and evaluate the nutrition and dietetic component of group education courses that are evidence‑based, using education theories and appropriate to the target audience.
  • Formal PowerPoint presentations to large groups face‑to‑face or virtually.
  • Informal teaching sessions with food models, activities and group work including patient group education sessions and tutorials.
• Production of regular monitoring and evaluation reports for the Health Board on service delivery, including dietetic needs assessment, development, evaluation and financial performance.
• Supervision of a team of highly specialist Dietitians working across Weight Management and Diabetes.
• Develop and co‑coordinate the dietetic service for this area, undertaking research and audit to fully evaluate the continual effectiveness of the service.

• Evidence of current HPC registration. Degree or equivalent, or post‑graduate qualification in dietetics. Member of the BDA or covered by professional indemnity insurance. Attendance at relevant accredited courses/conferences to demonstrate post‑graduate professional development. MSc or equivalent post‑graduate experience/training, including teaching qualification or clinical educator's course. Post‑registration behaviour change and/or motivational interviewing training and experience.
• Evidence of audit and research. Food Hygiene Certificate or working towards this.

• Post‑registration experience working with a wide range of clients across a variety of clinical settings, including community and weight‑management. Understanding of professional ethics and application in practice. Evidence of ongoing CPD. Experience of service delivery in a variety of clinical or community settings. Experience of student training. Experience of research methodology, particularly evaluation of community nutrition projects. Experience of developing evidence‑based resources, guidelines, protocols and policies. Experience of project work.
• Experience of working in a leadership role.
