Role Overview

The Senior Therapeutic Support Worker plays a key role in delivering trauma-informed, child-centred care to children with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Grounded in the Ubuntu philosophy — “I am because we are” — the role combines direct care with leadership, mentoring, and modelling best practice within a therapeutic home.

Shift Pattern

2 days on, 4 days off rolling rota, including sleep‑ins. Shifts may include weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high‑quality, safe, and nurturing therapeutic care, acting as a positive role model

  • Support, mentor, and develop staff through training and reflective practice
  • Champion PACE and other therapeutic approaches
  • Make child‑centred decisions and confidently challenge poor practice
  • Remain vigilant to safeguarding concerns and promote children’s safety and wellbeing
  • Represent Ubuntu Group professionally at multi‑agency meetings

Ubuntu Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check with barred list, satisfactory references, and comprehensive safeguarding checks.

Induction Process

All applicants will be required to complete a full two week induction to begin on Monday 19th January 2026 to include both face to face and online training and shadow shifts.
