A global technology leader in Hemel Hempstead seeks a Field Scientist for a 12-month contract. This role involves supporting research and product development for chemical detection technologies, requiring a PhD in Chemistry or Physics and hands-on laboratory experience. The ideal candidate will provide innovative solutions and contribute to experimental design and data analysis in a collaborative environment.

We have an exciting opportunity here at Smiths Detection for a Field Scientist to join our Technology Projects team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract basis. Working from our Hemel Hempstead R&D site, it will also include regular visits to other 3rd‑party laboratories. This really is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding team where you will play an integral part in providing scientific expertise and support, covering items such as technology and product development and support for current/future chemical, explosives and narcotics detection products. You will also be instrumental in the planning and execution of experiments, analysis of data and instrument/experimental design.
