This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse to develop professionally and expand their clinical leadership skills by becoming part of the SACT Nursing Team.
You must have a comprehensive understanding of cancer patients' needs, advanced communication skills for advising patients, relatives, and other health professionals, along with excellent SACT administration and complication management skills.
You must be flexible and able to work shifts across 7 days per week.
A commitment to quality improvement and patient safety is essential. You should be dynamic, able to work on your own initiative, and capable of coordinating and prioritizing care in a busy environment while supporting and managing staff. Responsibilities include assessing patients and making clinical decisions at Velindre and outreach clinics, ensuring safe delivery of treatment, and assessing patients attending for treatment or who become unwell during treatment. You will also undertake assessments via the SACT Treatment Helpline Service.
A key aspect of the role as a Charge Nurse is to mentor and support junior members of the SACT Nursing Team.
You will join a forward-thinking, innovative team dedicated to improving oncology patient care. Flexibility and commitment to the service are vital, as the role covers inpatient, day case, chemotherapy, and outreach settings.
Welsh language skills are desirable; applications from Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome.
